About the artists: Thomas Baumgärtel, born in 1960 in Rheinberg, is a German artist who is also known under the pseudonym “Bananensprayer”. Baumgärtel, who studied art and psychology, works in his Cologne studio and is regarded as one of Germany’s most versatile artists and an important Pop Art protagonist who has already exhibited in numerous museums and renowned art venues.

ELIOT is an artist, musician and curator. He is one of the pioneers of the German hip hop movement. His great interest in everyday objects, mass media, scurrility and especially junk food is the content of his work. In the style of Pop Art, ELIOT combines the roughness of his graffiti past with stencils, embroidery and screen printing.
